The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
That C&P jams like the antithesis of what makes Phish 3.0 so stellar, at least from 2011 onwards. A whole lot of searching for something - anything- to latch on to. And then when they find something awesome at the end (Roggecelot Jed?) they drop it promptly.
Its the Bangor to the Bozeman of the other big Crosseyed. The former a jumbled mess, the latter an intricate dance where you change partners and relative gravity a few times.
