Another lilting ballad by the Lounge Lizard himself, “Final Flight” is perhaps a reflection on the uncertain future that the hiatus brought. It’s also the last cut on Vida Blue’s self-titled debut album. While the lyrics and piano solo are equally moving, Phish has only chosen to perform this song once to date. “Final Flight” was Page’s contribution to the first set of 2/26/03, when each member featured a song from a solo project. Unfortunately it seems lost between the two long rockers “The Moma Dance” and “Maze.”
